Training activities are scheduled on a monthly basis. The Department strives to deliver a wide range of training, which includes State and Federally mandated topics, as well as discretionary subjects. All personnel are scheduled to participate in a minimum of 12 hours of training each month, scheduled on Wednesday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00 pm. With additional training opportunities on Saturdays from 16:00 to 19:00 pm.
Many volunteer firefighters expand their knowledge base by attending both fire service related and advanced degree courses from the other sources as well.
