Recycle Today for a Better Tomorrow!

The City of Mt. Shasta, in partnership with the Siskiyou Opportunity Center and Burney Disposal, Inc., is proud to offer the Blue Bag Recycling Program.

Blue Bag Recycling

  • Residential recycling will occur on the first full week of each month and will be picked up with your garbage beginning at 7:00 a.m.
  • Place blue bags beside your garbage receptacles curbside and tie them securely.
  • Replacement bags will be attached to your trash cans.
  • Additional blue bags can be picked up at City Hall.

Acceptable items to put in the blue bags:

• Aluminum cans
• Household plastic-#1 to #7
• Glass-food jars, wine, beer, soda, juice-no broken glass please
• Aluminum foil and pie tins

Please note: Blue bags that contain items not on the above list are considered trash and will not be picked up.
