As City Manager, Bruce leads all City functions and manages the Mt. Shasta’s economic development team. He seeks to create and build relationships with new and existing businesses, and along with our economic development partners to improve the community’s business environment. He works closely with the City Council to successfully implement the City’s overall marketing and business development strategy.
As the City’s Finance Director, Muriel prepares comprehensive business assistance packages for new and existing companies, including local and state incentives, loan programs, and development agreements. She works closely with companies and is the primary contact for many State of California programs.
As the City’s Public Works Director, Rod is responsible for the stewardship of all City-owned infrastructure. He is an integral member of our development efforts. This includes oversight of the water system, wastewater system, engineering, the street network, lights and signals, storm drains, and public buildings. The City’s infrastructure system plays an important role in establishing and maintaining sound economic conditions and a high standard of living for the community.
Our City Planner inspires the vision for the built and natural environments that enhance the quality of life in Mt Shasta. The Planner assists with implementation of our Economic Strategy with the overall objective of enhancing the business environment and quality of life in the City through promoting investment, job generation, overall business activity, and elimination of adverse economic conditions. City Planning provides services that implement the policies and objectives of the community that are set forth in the City’s General Plan and Municipal Code. The Department is responsible for development with the goal of enhancing and preserving our physical, social, and economic quality. The Planner processes applications for all development proposals and provides support for the Economic Development Team, the Planning Commission and the City Council.
