“The purpose of the Mt. Shasta Police Department is to provide for the public safety of its residents and the visitors to the City of Mt. Shasta. This is achieved through proactive and reactive law enforcement. Proactive law enforcement is satisfied through the education of its citizens coupled with active law enforcement to prevent criminal activity. Reactive law enforcement is satisfied by the immediate professional investigation and arrest of those responsible for committing crimes and their delivery to the judicial system. The Department acknowledges successful realization of this goal is directly related to the amount of respect and assistance provided by the community we serve.”
